DianSheng Gear Box

DianSheng Gear Box

DianSheng Gear Box is a box for a standard 56 mm 3x3 cube. What sets it apart from an ordinary plastic box is its gear mechanism, which opens and closes it. Built-in magnets keep the box shut, so your cube won't fall out when you carry it in a backpack or a pouch. We offer the White version.

The cube is not included. You are buying the box only.

Which cubes fit the DianSheng Gear Box

The Gear Box holds cubes up to 56 mm per side, which covers most modern 3x3 speed cubes. It also fits other puzzles of this size, e.g. mini 7x7 cubes in the 56 mm format. Cubes of 57 mm and larger, full-size 4x4 cubes and irregularly shaped shape mods will most likely not fit. Even with cubes close to 56 mm, the inside can be tight. One customer wrote that his GAN 16 was a poor fit, while his RS3M V5 fit without any problems. If your cube is at the upper end of the size range, measure its side first.

Mechanism and closure

The box opens and closes with a set of gears, so opening it is a bit like playing with a small mechanical toy. Magnets close the box fully and stop it from opening on its own. This keeps your cube protected in transport, and on a desk or shelf the box also works as a display case.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to keep their main in something more special than an ordinary pouch, and for collectors who like to display their cubes. The Gear Box also makes a nice small gift for anyone who solves cubes. If you carry a lot of cubes to competitions, a bag for several cubes will be more practical.
