HuaMeng is a sub-brand of MoYu. The TG model's main feature is its extensive adjustment system. The HuaMeng TG 3x3 Maglev Ball Core UV is the best-equipped version of the first-generation TG. Instead of springs, it uses a MagLev system. Inside is a magnetic Ball-Core, and outside is a glossy UV coating. The cube comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

Adjustment: 1620 setting combinations

• 6 tension levels, set with the key included in the box.
• 9 compression levels, changed by hand without any tools.
• 5 edge magnet strength levels.
• 6 corner/core magnet strength levels.

You set the edge magnet strength and the strength of the magnets between the corners and the core independently. This lets you adjust two things separately: how strongly the cube "snaps" when aligning layers, and how firmly the Ball-Core holds it together.

How it turns

On factory settings, the TG feels rather heavy, solid and controllable. Its feel is often described as tactile, and the cube handles aggressive turning well. Some users point out that it is fairly dry out of the box, so it's worth lubing it right away. Some reviews also say that it is too tight even on the loosest settings and that its weight becomes tiring during longer sessions. If you turn lightly and prefer lightweight cubes, this one may not suit you.

Maglev Ball Core UV vs. the other TG versions

All four first-generation TG versions have a Ball-Core and the same adjustment range. They differ in their tension system and finish. The spring versions have 76 magnets. In the MagLev versions, the springs are replaced by repelling magnets. This brings the total to 88 magnets and gives lighter, faster turning. The UV coating gives a glossy surface with more grip than matte plastic. This model is not the TG V2, which is a newer cube with a different adjustment system.

Who is it for?

For speedcubers who turn aggressively, like heavier, stable cubes and want to fine-tune the settings themselves. As a child's first cube, this range of adjustment isn't necessary.
