MoYu Meilong Triangle Pyramid

MoYu Meilong Triangle Pyramid

The MoYu Meilong Triangle Pyramid, also sold as the MoYu Triangle Pyraminx, is a Pyraminx shape mod rather than a regular pyramid puzzle. It is made by MoFang JiaoShi (MFJS), a brand owned by MoYu and also known as MoYu Cubing Classroom. It belongs to the Macaron series of six pyramid puzzles released in 2020, which also includes the Corner Twist, Windmill, Maple Leaf, Bead and Boomerang.

How it differs from a Pyraminx

The design combines a regular Pyraminx with a Pyraminx Duo. In addition to the pieces you know from the classic pyramid, it has an extra piece in the middle of each face. If you can already solve a Pyraminx, you have a good starting point, but you still need to learn how to position these extra pieces.

Build

The puzzle is stickerless, in pastel Macaron colours, with a matte (frosted) surface that doesn't pick up as many fingerprints as glossy plastic. It has no magnets. In poor lighting, some of the pastel faces may look similar.

Who is it for?

For those who already solve a regular Pyraminx and are looking for something new, and for collectors, especially those collecting the whole Macaron series. The Triangle Pyramid is not a WCA event, so it's a puzzle for fun and for your collection rather than for competition training.
