MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 AI 3x3x3

MoYu WeiLong WRM V10 AI is a smart cube, a 3x3 cube with electronics inside. Under the hood it uses the mechanism of the WeiLong WRM V10, MoYu's magnetic cube that many speedcubers have used. The cube connects via Bluetooth to an app on your phone. The app reads your moves in real time, so you can see the state of the cube and how each solve went. We offer it in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

What is a smart cube good for?

A regular cube only shows your solve time. A Bluetooth cube records the whole solve: every move and its pace. This makes it easier to see which stage costs you the most time and where you pause. A smart cube is also great for training with an app and for solving online with other people. There is one thing you should know, though: according to available information, the official MoYu app (WCU Cube) is only available in Chinese (Simplified). Before you buy, check whether that interface works for you.

How does it turn?

The electronics don't change the character of the mechanism. The AI turns like the WRM V10: it's magnetic, settles layers into place securely and has good corner cutting, so it forgives less precise turns. The tension is adjustable, so you can set the cube tighter if you want more control, or looser if you prefer faster turning. The electronics add a few grams compared to the regular WRM V10. Most people won't feel it, but those sensitive to light cubes may notice.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already know the basics and want to track their progress more precisely than with a timer alone. Also for anyone who wants to solve online or practise with an app. For WCA competitions you'll still need a regular 3x3 cube. If you don't care about connecting to your phone at all, the standard WRM V10 will give you a similar feel and costs less.
