QiYi Smart Timer (Mythical Series)

QiYi Smart Timer (Mythical Series) is a Bluetooth speedcubing timer from a series inspired by mythical creatures from Chinese tradition. Inside, it's the same Smart Timer that QiYi sells in the standard white version. This series has a colorful, translucent case. We stock three variants: Green, Red and Transparent.

How the app-connected timer works

The timer measures time to 0.001 s and calculates your current Ao5 and Ao12 averages on its own, so you can see some of your stats without a phone. Once connected via Bluetooth to the free QiYi Smart Player app (Android and iOS), every solve is sent straight to your phone. Your times are saved in the cloud, and the app includes tools for analyzing your results. There's also inspection with warnings at 8 and 12 seconds, just like at competitions. So you don't have to copy your times by hand after every session.

Keep in mind that the full Bluetooth features work in the QiYi app. Users have also pointed out that data from Smart Player can't be exported easily. This may be a drawback if you train with a different program.

Smart Timer or the regular QiYi Timer?

The Mythical Series is also available as the classic QiYi Timer. That model is bigger and has no built-in Bluetooth, but you can buy an adapter for it separately. The Smart Timer has connectivity built in, and it's also lighter and smaller. If you mostly practice with your phone and want your averages and time history in the app, go for the Smart version. For timing alone, without a phone, the regular timer is enough.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to train with a mat timer instead of a phone stopwatch while collecting stats at the same time. This timer also works well as a first real timer for a child who is starting to solve regularly. The only difference from the standard white version is the look.
