QiYi Smart Timer XuanWu

QiYi Smart Timer XuanWu

QiYi Smart Timer XuanWu is a Bluetooth speedcubing timer in a limited edition from a series inspired by the Four Mythical Beasts. XuanWu is the Black Tortoise of Chinese mythology. In terms of features, it is the same QiYi Smart Timer as the standard version. What differs is the look: a semi-transparent black housing and black-and-gold artwork.

Timer with Bluetooth and an app

The timer connects to your phone via Bluetooth and sends every time to the free QiYi app in real time. No need to type anything in by hand. Your results are saved in the cloud, and the app shows averages, statistics and your progress over time. Without a phone, the timer works like a regular stackmat: the display shows your current Ao5 and Ao12, so it's easy to keep track of your average even when you scramble by hand.

The set includes a phone stand, so the screen with the app sits right next to the timer. There are also clips for attaching the timer to most speedcubing mats. The ready lights are small and less distracting before you start. The timer also has a 2.5 mm output for connecting compatible accessories.

Good to know before you buy

Bluetooth works with the QiYi app. Users report that the timer does not connect wirelessly to csTimer. If you train mainly in csTimer and want a Bluetooth connection, keep this in mind. The timer is powered by 2 AAA batteries, which are not included.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want all their times in one place and want to track averages without writing them down by hand. It also works well as a first timer for a child who is starting to train regularly, as it is simple to use. If the smart features don't matter to you but you like the look, the XuanWu version offers the same functions as the standard Smart Timer, just with a different design.
