QiYi Warrior Plus M 3x3 (19 cm)

A standard 3x3 cube measures about 56 mm. The QiYi Warrior Plus M 3x3 has an edge length of about 19 cm (188 mm), so it is a big cube that you turn with both hands. Despite its size, it is a fully working 3x3 cube built like a speedcube. The letter M in the name stands for the magnetic version. QiYi also makes a non-magnetic variant. The cube comes in the stickerless bright version, which means no stickers, just coloured plastic.

How a big 3x3 cube solves

Pieces this size are heavy, so the pace and technique of solving are completely different from a 56 mm cube. Don't expect fast turning or finger tricks. You turn it with your whole hands, calmly, layer by layer. This is where the magnets in the edges and corners come in handy. With every move they help the layer settle into place, while on a large, heavy cube without magnets it is easier to end up with misaligned layers and lockups on the next moves.

M version or non-magnetic?

The mechanism and size are the same in both versions. Choose the magnetic version if you actually plan to solve the cube, as the magnets make it noticeably easier to control the heavy layers. If it will mainly sit on a shelf as a decoration, the non-magnetic version will do the job too.

For a cuber who already owns a few cubes and wants something unusual in their collection. A big cube is also useful as a teaching aid: when learning to solve, at school or during workshops, every move is clearly visible on it.
