QiYi Warrior Plus Max Box 3x3 is a huge 3x3 cube measuring 38 cm per side and weighing approx. 7.1 kg. The Box version has one extra feature: the pieces can be opened, and there are storage compartments inside. The cube can sit on a shelf as a decoration and also serve as a container for smaller cubes, a timer or other small items.

Can you actually solve it?

Yes. QiYi built the Warrior Plus Max like a regular speedcubing cube, so it turns noticeably more easily than many older giant 3x3 cubes. At this size and weight, though, solving it is still a completely different experience from a 56 mm cube. You turn the layers with both hands, ideally with the cube standing on a table or on the floor. This is not a cube for setting times or for practice. It is made for showcase solving, decoration and fun.

Box version: storage inside the pieces

The Box version differs from the standard Warrior Plus Max in that every piece except the centers can be opened. You do this with the magnetic openers included in the set. Inside there is free space where you can keep, for example, smaller cubes. If you just want the cube to stand on display and solve it from time to time, the standard version is enough. The Box makes sense if you also want to use it as a container.

Who is it for?

For a cuber who wants something more in their room than a shelf full of cubes. It also works well as a gift for a cube fan, or as a feature piece for a cubing club, a school classroom, or a stand at competitions and shows. With children, keep in mind that it weighs over 7 kg. It is not a toy to throw or carry around the house, and the large, heavy pieces require care when opening the compartments.
