Vin Cube 4x4 M V2 Sprint (58 mm)

Vin Cube 4x4 M V2 Sprint is the base version of the second-generation magnetic 4x4 cube from Vin Cube. The first Vin 4x4 was a development of the well-known YJ MGC 4x4. The V2 has been redesigned from scratch and measures 58 mm instead of 60 mm, so it fits smaller hands better and is quicker to manoeuvre. The Sprint has a matte (frosted) surface and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

The cube has 96 magnets in the edges and corners, arranged in a linear layout. Every turn ends with a noticeable "click", and the layers snap into place on their own. This makes precise turning easier and reduces overshooting. Wider outer layers improve control during full face turns. The pieces have an anti-pop design that makes popping less likely during fast turning and parity algorithms. The "fish tail" piece shape reduces friction and keeps pieces from catching on each other. The frosted plastic gives medium grip and doesn't pick up fingerprints.

According to user reviews, cubes from the V2 series arrive fairly dry and tight. A quick setup with lube and tension tuning noticeably improves how they turn. Keep this in mind if this is your first 4x4 cube.

Sprint, Surge or Apex?

All three versions share the same 58 mm size and a similar piece design. They differ in magnets and finish:

• Sprint: 96 magnets, no core magnets, matte surface.
• Surge: 112 magnets (96 in the pieces and 16 core magnets), UV coating.
• Apex: 160 magnets, including 16 core magnets and 48 magnets in the middle layers, UV coating.

The more expensive versions have extra magnets that further stabilise the middle layers. The Sprint has a simpler magnet setup and a matte surface, but the same 58 mm body.

Who is it for?

The Sprint is a sensible first magnetic 4x4 cube for anyone switching from a regular, non-magnetic cube. It also works well as a more affordable practice cube for someone training 4x4 alongside 3x3. If you want more stable middle layers or prefer a glossy UV surface, take a look at the Surge and Apex versions.
