Vin Cube is a brand founded by Haixu Zhang, a former 4x4 world record holder. It is best known for its 4x4 cubes that build on the MGC design, and it also offers 2x2, 3x3 and 5x5 cubes in versions ranging from basic models to ones with Ball-Core, UV coating and MagLev.

The Vin Cube brand (also written as VinCube) was founded by Haixu Zhang, a former 4x4 world record holder. That's why the company started with the 4x4: the first Vin Cube 4x4 is based on the design of the YJ MGC 4x4, but it adds a few changes that anyone who solves bigger cubes a lot will appreciate. Today Vin Cube also makes 2x2, 3x3 and 5x5 cubes, and accessories are available for some models.

Vin Cube 4x4 cubes: where it all began

The original Vin Cube 4x4 is 60 mm and has primary internals. The gaps between the corners and centers are larger than in the MGC, which helps with corner cutting, and the widened edges improve stability. The cube turns smoothly and fairly fast, so if you're used to the MGC, you'll feel at home with it quickly. The model comes in Glossy, UV Coated and core-magnet versions. A logo-free center cap (Blank Center Cap) is available for the UV version.

The second generation, the Vin Cube 4x4 M V2, is smaller (58 mm) and comes in three variants that differ in finish and magnet layout:

  • Sprint: the basic frosted version with 96 magnets in a linear layout,

  • Surge: a UV-coated version with 112 magnets, 16 of them in the core,

  • Apex: the flagship UV version with 160 magnets. Besides magnets in the core and outer layers, it also has magnets in the inner layers.

Vin Cube 3x3, 2x2 and 5x5

The VinCube 3x3 series comes in three versions: Lite, Racer and Nova. The Racer has a UV coating and a Ball-Core with 8 magnets that connect the corners to the core, so the layers align themselves better (auto-alignment). The Nova is the top model in the series. In addition to the Ball-Core and UV coating, it has MagLev, meaning repelling magnets instead of springs, and tool-free adjustment. The Lite is the simplest version in the series.

The Vin Cube 2x2 is 51 mm and is the brand's first smaller WCA cube. It comes in Glossy and Ball Core UV versions. Its turning feels more like older, classic 2x2s than the latest, very fast designs.

The Vin Cube 5x5 brings the 4x4 solutions to a bigger cube: it has 112 magnets, a Ball-Core, larger gaps for corner cutting, widened edges and anti-pop protection. It is available in Ball-Core and Ball-Core + UV versions.

Who are Vin Cube cubes for?

The brand is best known for its 4x4 cubes, so its models are a natural first choice if you want to switch from the MGC or are looking for a compact 4x4 for practice. The simpler versions, i.e. Glossy, Sprint and Lite, are enough to get started. Surge, Apex, Racer and Nova are for those who already know what they expect from core magnets, Ball-Core or MagLev. These features offer more stability and adjustment options, but they won't suit everyone.
