DEVO is a simplified edition of the YJ YuHu V3 magnetic megaminx. YJ removed the MagLev system and the advanced adjustment options. What's left is a simple design and a noticeably lighter feel in the hand. This is a megaminx for anyone who just wants to solve and doesn't need lots of setup options.

Design and solving experience

DEVO is based on the YuHu V3 series, which YJ redesigned from scratch compared with the V2. The mechanism has been rebuilt, and the corners have a rounded shape that helps with corner cutting when your moves are less precise. The puzzle is compact: the edge measures about 30.6 mm, so the megaminx sits comfortably in your hand even during longer sessions.

The magnets give a clear point where the layer stops. On a megaminx this matters a lot, because with twelve faces and 72-degree turns, overshooting and under-turned layers quickly cost you time. Thanks to its low weight, the puzzle feels light and quick. If you're used to heavier, more "planted" megaminxes, it may take you a moment to get used to it.

DEVO vs. other YuHu V3 versions

The YuHu V3 series comes in several variants that differ clearly in their features. The MagLev + Ball-Core version uses repelling magnets instead of springs, has magnets in the core that stabilize the layers and help with auto-alignment, and offers an advanced compression adjustment system. DEVO deliberately leaves all that out: there's no MagLev and no advanced adjustment. If you like fine-tuning your setup and adjusting the settings to suit you, the MagLev + Ball-Core version is the better fit. If you want a light magnetic megaminx without extra settings, DEVO is the simpler choice.

Who is it for?

DEVO works well as a first magnetic megaminx, as a second puzzle for practice, or as a gift for a child who can already handle a 3x3 and wants to try something bigger. The Stickerless Bright version has no stickers. The colors are in the plastic itself, so nothing wears off or peels.
