Calvins Puzzle Void Tornado Wheel Cube is a shape mod puzzle from the Wheel Cube series. It turns around its corners (corner-turning) rather than around its faces like a classic 3x3 cube. Every face has circles that significantly change the way you solve it. The Void version adds holes in the face centers, through which you can see additional pieces.

What makes it challenging

Not every move is available at any given moment. Some turns can only be made once the circles are aligned in the right position. So before you make a move, you need to think about the state of the wheels. Knowing 3x3 methods won't help much here, and you'll have to work out the solution on your own.

How the Void version differs

Calvins Puzzle released the Tornado Wheel Cube in two versions: standard and Void. In the Void version, the holes in the centers reveal pieces connected to the corners. They also move when you scramble the puzzle, so at the end you still need to put them in place. The standard version is easier to solve. Void uses the same circle concept but adds one more element to solve.

Who is it for?

For those who can already solve a 3x3 and want to try something different from yet another speedcubing cube. The Tornado Wheel Cube also makes a great unusual addition to a twisty puzzle collection. The puzzle has no magnets and is not designed for speedsolving or WCA competitions. It's better suited to relaxed solving and finding your own method. For a child's first cube, a regular 3x3 is a better choice.
