The Pentahedron is a puzzle shaped like a triangular prism. It has two triangular faces and three rectangular ones, five in total, which is where its name comes from. DaYan Crazy Pentahedron Neptune is a version with circle pieces on its faces. It was released jointly by DaYan and MF8 and designed by Daqing Bao. Neptune is one of eight variants in the Crazy Pentahedron series, each named after a different planet of the Solar System. We offer it in the stickerless bright version, which means the pieces are made of colored plastic, with no stickers.

What "Crazy" means in this puzzle

The faces have circle pieces. In the Crazy series from DaYan and MF8, some of them turn together with the layer, while others stay in place as the layer around them turns. Some variants also have faces with no circles at all. Each planet has a different arrangement of these faces, so each one needs a slightly different approach. That's why the method for the classic Pentahedron isn't enough. You need to keep track of which circles move with the face and which don't, and adjust your solving order accordingly.

What to expect

This is not a speed cube, and it shouldn't be judged like a flagship 3x3 cube. It has no magnets and no advanced tension adjustment. What matters here is the puzzle itself: the unusual shape and the extra layer of difficulty added by the circles. It's best approached calmly, with time for analysis, rather than with fast solving in mind.

Who is it for?

For those who can already solve a 3x3 cube and want to try something outside the standard categories. For collectors of shape-shifting puzzles and the DaYan and MF8 planetary series, Neptune will help complete the set. It's not the best choice as a child's first puzzle. To start, it's better to pick a regular 3x3 cube and reach for the Crazy Pentahedron once the basics are mastered.
