GAN 15 Maglev EmeraldoX Limited Edition

GAN 15 MagLev EmeraldoX Limited Edition 3x3

A limited summer edition of GAN's 2025 flagship cube. On the inside, the GAN 15 MagLev EmeraldoX is the same GAN15 MagLev, the lightest flagship in the brand's history. What sets it apart is the look: a translucent, emerald-green shell with glitter flakes that makes the cube look a bit like a crystal. It's a good choice if you want to solve on a top-tier GAN and own a collector's piece at the same time.

How it turns

The GAN15 MagLev is light and very fast, responding to even a gentle flick of the finger. User opinions are mixed, though. Some praise it for high TPS and stability, while others say it feels too loose out of the box or has occasional minor catching and lockups. Adjusting the tension and center travel and lubing the cube usually helps. If you turn heavily and aggressively, it may take a while to get used to. Speedcubers with a light turning style tend to feel at home with it sooner.

MagLev, magnets and adjustment

• MagLev: instead of springs, repelling magnets do the work, so turning feels lighter and has less friction than on spring-based cubes.
• Enhanced Core Positioning 4.0: core magnets and auto-aligning within a range of 15 to 40 degrees help the layers settle into place. This is not a classic Ball-Core.
• GES V3 / GTN: 6 tension levels and 6 center travel levels with numbered settings, giving 36 combinations in total.
• 3 levels of magnet strength: changed by swapping the magnets. Compared to the GAN14, there are fewer adjustment options, as the GAN15 is meant to be well set up straight out of the box.
• Spherical inner track: the redesigned track in the core is designed to provide smoother turning.

EmeraldoX or the standard GAN15?

The limited edition doesn't change the mechanism, so the choice comes down to looks and the collectible character of the cube. For solving and practice alone, the standard GAN15 MagLev is all you need. The EmeraldoX makes sense for GAN fans, collectors and anyone who wants a main cube that stands out.

Who is it for?

For intermediate and advanced speedcubers who like light, fast MagLev cubes. For a child's first cube, a cheaper magnetic model is a better choice.
