MF8 Crazy 3x3 Saturn

The MF8 Crazy 3x3 Saturn is a 3x3 cube with circular cuts on each of its six faces. It belongs to the Crazy 3x3 Plus series, which MF8 developed together with DaYan. From the outside it looks like a regular 3x3, but the circles on the faces split the centers, edges and corners into extra pieces. That's why knowing the standard method isn't enough to solve it. Our version is stickerless in the bright color scheme.

What makes the Saturn version different

The Crazy 3x3 Plus series comes in eight versions named after the planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. There is also a standard version. All of them have the same shape and the same cuts. The difference lies in how the circles on each face behave: in some versions they stay in place, in others they turn together with the face. This means each planet is solved a little differently. In the Saturn version, the circles on the white, green, blue and pink faces turn together with their faces.

How do you solve it?

You turn it like a regular 3x3, but the real challenge is the pieces inside the circles. You need to put them in place in addition to the usual edges and corners. Some 3x3 algorithms will still come in handy, but you'll have to figure out the rest yourself and keep track of what happens inside the circles. It's a puzzle for relaxed problem-solving, not a cube for setting fast times. There's no point judging it on TPS or corner cutting the way you would a flagship speed cube.

Who is it for?

For anyone who can already solve a regular 3x3 and wants something new, without jumping straight to much bigger puzzles. Collectors will enjoy it too, as the individual planets differ in how they are solved, not just in how they look. For a very first cube, including for a child who is just learning, a regular 3x3 is a better choice. The Crazy Saturn works best as the next step.
