MoYu has been making puzzle cubes since 2013: from the budget MeiLong series and popular RS3M cubes to the flagship WeiLong, used to set world records. The range also includes big NxN cubes, Pyraminx, Megaminx, Skewb, Square-1 and speedcubing accessories.
The Chinese brand MoYu (魔域) has been making puzzle cubes and other twisty puzzles since 2013. It started out as a sub-brand of YongJun (YJ). Later the two went their separate ways, and today they operate independently. You'll find MoYu cubes at every price point, from affordable models for your first cube to flagship speed cubes that have been used to set world records.
In 2013, MoYu cubes such as the WeiLong and AoLong took over from the DaYan models that dominated at the time. The brand is still strong at competitions today. Yusheng Du solved a 3x3 in 3.47 s on a WeiLong GTS2M, and Max Park set a 4x4 world record of 15.71 s on an AoSu WR M. MoYu also started making big cubes early on. Its first 6x6, the AoShi from 2014, already had good corner cutting and didn't pop during solves. The 13x13 was once the largest mass-produced cube, and the range now goes up to a 21x21.
MoYu also makes accessories, including a timer and cube stands.
For a first cube, for example for a child, a MeiLong Magnetic or RS3M V5 is usually enough. They're inexpensive, and the magnets help keep the layers aligned, so they get in the way less while learning. If you already solve against the clock, take a look at the WeiLong cubes. They offer tension and compression adjustment, and the different magnet options let you choose a setup that leans more towards speed or control.
