MoYu Weilong V9 Maglev Magnets

MoYu WeiLong V9 MagLev Magnets: replacement MagLev magnets

These are original MoYu magnets for the MagLev system, which replaces the springs in the cube's mechanism. In MagLev, layer tension doesn't come from a spring. Each center uses a pair of magnets that repel each other. The result is lighter turning with less friction and no spring noise. MoYu WeiLong V9 MagLev Magnets come in handy when a magnet in your cube cracks, falls out or gets lost while you're taking the cube apart and setting it up.

How many should you order?

1 unit of this product is one pair of magnets. Every cube with the MagLev system has a total of 6 pairs of magnets, one for each center. If you're replacing the whole system, order 6 units. If only one center is damaged, a single pair is enough.

Compatibility

The magnets fit these MoYu models:

• MoYu WeiLong WR M
• MoYu WeiLong WR M 2020
• MoYu WeiLong WR M 2021
• MoYu WeiLong GTS3 M
• MoYu RS3 M 2020
• MoYu RS3 M 2021 (MagLev)
• MoYu WeiLong WRM V9
• MoYu Super WeiLong
• MoYu Super RS3M V2

Watch out for newer generations. MoYu sells the MagLev set for the WeiLong V10 separately, and according to user reports it uses magnets of different sizes. That's why these magnets are not intended for the V10 or newer WeiLongs.

Installation

To replace them, you need to remove the center cap and unscrew the tension adjustment mechanism. The magnets are small and fragile, so it's a good idea to work over a mat or a box so none of them rolls under your desk. After reassembling, check that all centers have similar resistance. One badly seated pair can throw off the whole cube.
