MoYu RS3M V5 UV - corner piece

This is a single corner piece for the MoYu RS3M V5 UV cube, the version with the glossy UV Coated finish. In the RS3M V5 series, only the top version with MagLev and Ball-Core has the UV coating. This part comes in handy when a corner gets chipped or cracked, when you lose one after a pop, or when you want to build your own color scheme. Replacing a single piece costs much less than buying a new cube, and the rest of the mechanism and your setup stay unchanged.

Why corners on the RS3M V5 UV are replaced most often

The RS3M V5 is a light, budget-friendly cube, and its plastic is not the most durable. Users often report that the UV version is fairly delicate and a corner may chip when the cube is dropped. A damaged corner performs worse during corner cutting, can cause catching and looks different from the rest of the cube. Replacing it with a new piece usually solves the problem.

Compatibility

This piece fits the MoYu RS3M V5 UV version (MagLev, Ball-Core). Other RS3M V5 versions (Standard, Dual-Adjustment, MagLev without UV) use plastic without the UV coating, so the replacement corner will differ in finish and grip. Also, don't assume this part fits the RS3M 2020 or other MoYu models, as their pieces have a different design.

How to replace a corner

Turn any layer by about 45 degrees and gently pry out one of the edges. This creates a gap through which you can remove the neighboring corner. Insert the new piece in its place with the same color orientation and close the cube by pressing the edge back in. You don't need to unscrew anything to replace a corner. When reassembling, check that the magnets in the new corner are arranged the same way as in the other corners.
