Which cube does it fit?

The WeiLong V11 comes in several versions that have different cores. Before you order, check which model you have:

• V11 8-M Ball-Core (with springs): this part is made for exactly this version.
• V11 20-M Ball-Core: has a core with 20 magnets and needs a different part.
• V11 M and V11 M UV (without Ball-Core): have a classic cross core without magnets. This part is not intended for these versions.

What does the Ball-Core do in the V11?

The core contains magnets that interact with the centers. This helps the layers settle back into place more easily and makes the cube more stable during fast turning. The version with 8 magnets in the core feels gentler than the 20-M variant and keeps the light, fast character of the V11. A genuine MoYu part should restore the out-of-the-box feel of your cube.

Replacing the core

The replacement doesn't require any special tools, but you need to take the cube apart completely. Remove the center caps, unscrew the screws and springs from all six centers, and then reassemble the cube on the new core. After reassembly, set the tensioning and compression again. The easiest way to get back to your settings is to note them down before taking the cube apart. It's also a good opportunity to clean the pieces and apply fresh lube.

The part can also make sense as a spare. If the V11 8-M is your main cube, a cracked core before a competition won't put you out of training.
