Picube QiYi Warrior M 7x7 SE Matte

Picube QiYi Warrior M 7x7 SE Matte

Picube QiYi Warrior M 7x7 SE Matte is a special edition of the magnetic 7x7 cube, created jointly by Picube and QiYi. Underneath is the well-known Warrior M 7x7, one of the more affordable magnetic 7x7 cubes on the market. The SE edition stands out with its matte plastic, orange Picube logo and orange box. The cube comes in stickerless bright.

Compact size and low weight

At 62.5 mm and approx. 147.6 g, the Warrior is one of the smaller and lighter 7x7 cubes. With big cubes this matters: a single solve takes several minutes, and a heavier cube tires your hands faster. The smaller size is especially handy for people with smaller hands and for kids.

Magnets and mechanism

• Dual-layer magnetic positioning. There are magnets in both the outer and inner layers (according to the Warrior M specification: 144 outer and 72 inner). This makes it easier to align the layers and avoid lockups when turning the middle layers.
• Corner cutting tuned to each layer. It is smaller in the inner layers, which improves stability, and larger in the outer layers, so the cube is more forgiving of imprecise turns.
• A widened outer layer makes it easier to grip for wide moves.
• Integrated center caps that don't pop out while solving, plus grooves that reduce friction between pieces.

How it turns

Users of the SE edition say that out of the box the cube is fast but fairly dry. After lubing and setting the tension, it becomes noticeably more controllable. Some people notice that the magnets in the two outer layers have similar strength, so you may occasionally grab two layers at once by accident. The right choice of lube usually helps with this. The matte surface has medium grip, doesn't shine and doesn't show fingerprints the way UV-coated cubes do.

Matte, UV or core-magnetic?

The Picube SE series comes in a matte version and with a glossy UV coating (UV is grippier), as well as in two configurations: standard magnetic and core-magnetic, in which Picube adds magnets to the core. This version is the standard magnetic Warrior with a matte finish. It's the simplest SE variant. The core-magnetic version is more stable, but also more expensive.

Who is it for?

For those starting out with 7x7 or looking for a light, affordable magnetic cube for regular practice. Anyone who wants a Warrior in a distinctive edition, with matte plastic instead of UV, will be happy too.
