QiYi 24-Block Colorful Magic Snake

QiYi 24-Block Colorful Magic Snake is a puzzle snake in the classic layout known from the Rubik's Snake. It consists of 24 triangular prism-shaped pieces connected into a single chain. Unlike a cube, there is no scrambling or solving back to a starting state. Instead, you twist the snake into shapes: a ball, animals, geometric figures or your own creations. This version is multicoloured, and in our shop it comes in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

How the magic snake works

Each joint between segments rotates and can take one of four positions. With 24 pieces, this gives a huge number of possible combinations. You can build figures from ready-made patterns, which are easy to find online, or come up with your own. In the QiYi version, the segments settle into the next position on their own as you turn them, so you don't have to push them into alignment by hand. The coloured segments also help you tell different parts of the snake apart when building more complex figures.

What to keep in mind

The magic snake is a puzzle that relies more on creativity and spatial thinking than on algorithms. You don't need to know any methods or notation to play with it, which makes it a great fit for kids and for people who don't solve cubes. The 24-piece variant is the standard size. It offers plenty of possibilities while staying handy and easy to take with you. If you want to build bigger, more elaborate figures, you can go for longer snakes with 36, 48 or 72 segments.
