The DaYan GuHong Pro Maglev 56mm is a 3x3 cube in which the springs have been replaced with repelling magnets (MagLev). It has corner-core magnets, auto-alignment of approx. 15° and 5 tension levels set by hand. Turning is light and fast, while the cube remains easy to control.

DaYan brought back the GuHong line in 2023 and released the Pro model with two mechanism versions: classic springs and MagLev. This 3x3 cube is the DaYan GuHong Pro Maglev 56mm variant, which the manufacturer and some shops also label as the GuHong Pro M. Instead of springs, it uses repelling magnets, plus core magnets and manual tension adjustment. It is also available in 54 and 55 mm sizes. Here we describe the full-size 56 mm version in the stickerless bright colour scheme.
Users describe the GuHong Pro Maglev as a light cube with an airy feel and a soft clack of the pieces. MagLev reduces friction, so turning is fast and smooth, and compared with the spring version of the GuHong Pro, many people feel it is faster. The magnets are medium strength and close the layers well, but they don't slow down turning as much as in cubes with very strong magnets. Opinions on its out-of-the-box condition vary. Some people praise it for being ready to solve straight away, while others find the cube too stiff even on the loosest setting, which makes corner cutting less forgiving. Good lubing usually changes its character noticeably.
Its successor, the GuHong Pro+, offers dual adjustment (tension and compression) and adjustable core magnet strength. If you like fine-tuning your setup, the Pro+ gives you more options. If a MagLev cube with core magnets and simple tension adjustment is enough for you, the GuHong Pro Maglev is still a sensible choice at its price.
For those who already have their first magnetic cube behind them and want to try MagLev without buying an expensive flagship. It works well as a main for an intermediate cuber or as a cheaper backup cube for more experienced solvers. If you are just learning to solve, a simpler magnetic cube will do.
