DaYan GuHong Pro+ Maglev 56mm

DaYan GuHong Pro+ Maglev 56mm is the new version of the GuHong Pro M. It comes in the classic 3x3 cube size of 56 mm and uses a MagLev system instead of springs. Compared with its predecessor, DaYan has added the two things the old Pro was missing most: separate tension and compression adjustment, and adjustable magnets in the core. We stock the stickerless bright version.

How it turns

It has the typical DaYan feel: soft and slightly "papery". According to users, the magnets in the MagLev version are a bit stronger than in the first GuHong Pro M. The cube is fast, with good corner cutting and smooth slices. Out of the box it usually has a lot of factory lube, so the first solves may feel slower and it's worth wiping off the excess. The center clips have also been improved, as they could pop off in the old Pro M. Some people notice that the edges of the pieces are a little sharp.

MagLev, core magnets and adjustment

• MagLev. Instead of springs, the layers are held together by repelling magnets. This gives light, fast turning and none of the typical spring noise.
• Adjustable corner-to-core magnets. The corners are attracted to the magnetic core, which helps keep the layers aligned at high TPS. You can change the strength of this attraction. This is a different solution from Ball-Core.
• Numbered dual adjustment. You can choose from 6 tension levels and 8 compression levels. The settings are marked with numbers, so it's easy to set all faces the same way or go back to a setup you know works.
• 94 magnets in total (magnets in the pieces and in the core). The standard GuHong Pro+ without MagLev has 64.

Maglev or standard version? 54, 55 or 56 mm?

The standard version uses traditional springs and is usually a little cheaper. The Maglev is faster and turns more lightly. If you prefer a more "solid", controllable feel, you may need a moment to get used to it or tighten the tension a bit more. The GuHong Pro+ is also available in 54 and 55 mm sizes, which are often chosen by people with smaller hands or for OH. The 56 mm size is the standard most cubers are used to.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants a fast MagLev cube with extensive adjustment options without spending money on a flagship model. It's also a good fit for owners of the first GuHong Pro who want the same feel with better tensioning. Beginners will manage just fine too, as the cube is ready to solve straight away on its factory settings.
