MoreTry Tianma X3 Single Magnetic Frosted 3x3

Single is the base version of the Tianma X3 series, the first cube from the MoreTry brand. MoreTry Tianma X3 Single Magnetic Frosted is a 3x3 magnetic cube with 48 magnets, classic springs and a matte (frosted) surface. It has the same body and adjustment system as the better-equipped versions of the series, but fewer magnets and a simpler set of technologies. It comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How it turns

Users of the Tianma X3 series describe it as a light, fast cube that turns without much effort. They also praise its good corner cutting, especially forward. In the Single version, the magnets are placed in the standard way. They help a layer settle into place, but don't "pull" it in as strongly as the more expensive versions. For this version, the manufacturer gives an auto-alignment angle of 10°, the smallest in the whole series. As a result, the cube turns quite freely and doesn't force a strong "click" with every move.

Out of the box, the cube is often set up fairly loose. If you get overshooting or lack stability during fast solves, it's best to tighten the tension by a few levels right away.

Adjustment

How do the Tianma X3 versions differ?

• Single: 48 magnets, springs, 10° auto-alignment
• Double: 96 magnets, springs, 20° auto-alignment
• Triple: 120 magnets, springs and half-travel system, 45° auto-alignment
• Super: 132 magnets, MagLev instead of springs, 45° auto-alignment

The higher the version, the more strongly the cube aligns the layers by itself. The Single version is the simplest and the most free-turning.

Who is it for?

This version works well as a first magnetic cube, including for kids. It will also suit people who prefer weaker magnets and lighter turning. It lets you find out whether the Tianma's feel suits you without paying extra for MagLev or additional magnets. Speedcubers looking for strong layer holding and more stability at high TPS will feel more at home with the Triple or Super versions.
