MoreTry Tianma X3 Triple Magnetic 3x3

The Tianma X3 was MoreTry's first cube series, released in 2022. The manufacturer made it in several versions that differ in their magnet layout. MoreTry Tianma X3 Triple Magnetic is a magnetic 3x3 cube with three sets of magnets. It uses classic springs, and the centers have additional disc-shaped magnets that work similarly to those in MagLev cubes. In its build and character, the cube resembles MoYu designs.

Three sets of magnets

• A standard set of magnets in the edges and corners.
• Two additional magnets in the edge torpedoes.
• Three additional magnets in the foot of each corner, working together with the disc-shaped magnets in the centers. They pull the layer into place even when a turn is not complete. According to the manufacturer, this works within a range of about 45 degrees. In this version, the magnets only help align the layers. Tension still comes from the springs, so this is not a full MagLev system.

How it turns

The Tianma X3 Triple is fast and turns lightly. According to users, turning is rather soft and fairly quiet, especially after lubing. How stable it feels depends on your solving style. In our opinion, the cube is less stable than typical flagship models when turning fast. Some reviewers, however, find the magnets strong. This model will suit you better if you like a fast, light cube than if you are looking for a very tight, controllable feel.

Tension adjustment

Tension is set with screws, and there is also a nine-level spring adjustment system. You change it with the included screwdriver, so it is easy to tailor the cube to your preferences: looser for speed or tighter for control.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already know the basics and want to try a magnetic 3x3 cube from outside the major brands, with an extensive magnet layout and spring adjustment. The cube is legal for official competitions. If stability is your top priority, try it on tighter settings first.
