MoYu AoChuang V6 5x5 (Single-Track + UV)

The AoChuang V6 is the successor to the popular AoChuang WR M, with a reworked mechanism and a new magnet layout. The MoYu AoChuang V6 5x5 Single-Track + UV is the version with the basic set of 96 corner-edge magnets and a glossy UV coating. At about 60.5 mm, it is compact for a 5x5 cube and sits comfortably in your hands, even during longer sessions.

How it turns

Users describe the V6 Single-Track as fast and smooth, with a fluid flow and very good corner cutting. During fast turning the magnets don't create big "bumps", and when you finish a move accurately they clearly snap the layer into place. Some cubers find this cube a little less forgiving than some competing 5x5s, so imprecise turns are more likely to end in a lockup. The wider outer layer improves stability, and the improved anti-pop design reduces the risk of popping. The pieces have a "dragon scale" texture designed to reduce friction between layers.

Single, Double or Triple Track?

Here "Track" refers to successive levels of magnetization. The mechanism and size are the same in all versions.

• Single-Track: 96 corner-edge magnets, no Ball-Core. Available in matte and UV versions.
• Double-Track: adds 16 magnets in the core (Ball-Core) that help with layer auto-alignment.
• Triple-Track: also adds 48 magnets in the feet of the inner pieces, 160 in total.

The Single-Track is the simplest design in the whole series. Many 5x5 cubers prefer it because its inner layers feel lighter and there is no extra pull. If you want a cube that aligns its layers more strongly on its own, consider the Double-Track or Triple-Track.

UV coating and setup

The UV coating gives a glossy surface with noticeable grip and better protects the plastic against scratches. Tension adjustment is classic: screws and springs under the center caps. The center caps have a feature that prevents deformation, so removing them for the first time can be tricky, especially on a tightly set-up cube.

Who is it for?

For anyone who wants to get serious about 5x5, and for speedcubers looking for a sensible everyday or competition cube without paying extra for Ball-Core. It also works well as a successor to the AoChuang WR M.
