MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 Single-Track Magnetic UV

The seventh generation of MoYu's flagship 4x4 is smaller than its predecessor, measuring just 58 mm, so it sits comfortably in your hand. The MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 Single-Track Magnetic UV is the entry-level magnetic version of the series, with a glossy UV coating. It has the same mechanism and size as the more expensive Double-Track and Triple-Track versions, but a simpler magnet system.

How it turns

The cube is fast right out of the box, and the turning is noticeably snappy. Users praise its good corner cutting and resistance to popping. The magnets on the inner layers are stronger than on the outer layers, which helps with building centers and pairing edges. Some people find the feel a bit crunchy. The inner layers are clearly smaller than the outer ones, so if you are coming from a larger 4x4, it takes a moment to adjust. Some more advanced cubers who turn at very high TPS still prefer the Ball-Core versions.

According to the manufacturer, the outer layers have been widened to make the cube more stable. MoYu has also improved the anti-pop protection and used pieces with a "dragon scale" texture, designed to make turning smoother.

Single-Track, Double-Track or Triple-Track?

• Single-Track (this version): 96 magnets working only between pieces (piece-to-piece), no Ball-Core.
• Double-Track: 112 magnets and a Ball-Core with magnets between the corners and the core. The cube aligns the layers more strongly on its own.
• Triple-Track: 160 magnets, Ball-Core and additional edge magnetization.

The Single-Track is also available in a non-UV version with a matte finish. The UV coating gives a glossy surface with stronger grip. The mechanism is the same in both versions.

Who is it for?

It's a good choice if you want to move up to a quality magnetic 4x4, or if you're a cuber on a limited budget who wants the mechanism of a flagship series. If you like strong layer guidance from magnets in the core, consider the Double-Track or Triple-Track. However, many people feel that the Single-Track is more than enough for regular solving.
