Picube AoSu V7 SE Dual Track Matte is a special edition of the MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 cube made by Picube. It is based on the Dual Track version, the V7 with a magnetic Ball-Core. Picube changed two things: it weakened the magnets in the core and fitted different springs. This version has a matte surface without UV coating and comes in stickerless bright colours.

How it turns

According to user reviews, this 4x4 cube turns noticeably lighter than the standard V7 Dual Track. You feel it most on slices, the inner layer turns. On the regular V7 versions they need more force and catch more often. The magnets on both the outer and inner layers are more subtle, but they still help the layers snap into place. During aggressive turning you may occasionally get a corner twist, but serious lockups and pops are rare.

Keep in mind that straight out of the box the cube can be dry, scratchy and hard to control. Usually tightening it is enough. Lubing it also evens out the feel, which users describe as light and slightly crunchy once it is set up.

How it differs from other AoSu V7 versions

• Single Track has magnets only between the pieces, with no Ball-Core. It comes in matte and UV versions.
• Dual Track UV adds a magnetic Ball-Core that stabilises the inner layers. The feel is clearly magnetic.
• Triple Track UV has even more magnets and is the most strongly magnetic version in the whole series.
• SE Dual Track (Picube) keeps the Ball-Core but has weaker core magnets and different springs. It is available in Matte and UV versions, which differ only in finish.

The matte plastic does not shine and gives a medium, non-slip grip. There is no UV coating here that could wear off over time.

Who is it for?

This cube suits people who solve 4x4 regularly and were bothered by heavy slices or an overly strong core on the standard V7. If you want the most stable, strongly magnetic cube possible, the regular Dual Track UV is a better fit. For your first 4x4 cube, the Single Track is enough. Consider this version once you already have your favourite setup and want lighter turning.
