Picube MoYu AoSu V7 Picube SE Dual Track UV (Premium Setup)

MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 Picube SE Dual Track UV

This version of MoYu's flagship 4x4 cube has been prepared by Picube. It is based on the MoYu AoSu V7 4x4 Dual Track UV, the variant with magnets between the pieces and a magnetic Ball-Core. Picube fits it with an upgraded core and different springs from the factory version. It's a good choice if you want a refined AoSu V7 straight away and don't feel like modding the cube yourself. The surface has a UV coating, and the colour scheme is stickerless bright.

How it turns

The AoSu V7 is smaller than the previous AoSu generation, so it sits better in your hands, which helps with algorithms and the 3x3 stage. Users describe the Dual Track version as fast but still controllable. The feel is smooth with a slight tactile touch, and the layers clearly "click" into place. The outer layers turn much like a good 3x3 cube. Some people point out the strongly magnetised centres and the noticeable resistance when turning the inner layers. If you prefer lighter slices, this may bother you, but it makes it easier to land in position.

Single, Dual or Triple Track?

The AoSu V7 variants differ mainly in their magnetisation:

• Single Track: 96 magnets, only between the pieces, no Ball-Core.
• Dual Track (this version): 112 magnets. In addition to the magnets between the pieces, it has magnets between the corners and the core, plus a Ball-Core.
• Triple Track: 160 magnets, including additional magnets between the outer and inner edges.

The more magnets, the more stable and "solid" the cube feels, but the magnetism is also more noticeable. Dual Track sits in the middle of this range: more stable than Single Track, but without the dense magnetisation of Triple Track.

What the Picube SE edition changes

• Upgraded Ball-Core, which improves layer alignment and stiffens the structure compared with the standard Dual Track.
• Replaced springs with different tension and elasticity. The aim is a more controlled, predictable feel.
• UV coating, a glossy surface that is more scratch-resistant. The Picube SE is also available in a Matte version with the same mechanism; it differs only in the finish.

Who is it for?

For cubers who solve 4x4 regularly and are looking for a main for practice and competitions. Especially if you were planning to mod a standard AoSu V7 anyway. For a first 4x4 cube or a gift for a child, the cheaper AoSu V7 Single Track, which has the same body and size, is more than enough.
