QiYi 36-Block Magic Snake Transparent

QiYi 36-Block Magic Snake Transparent is a version of the classic snake puzzle made of transparent, coloured plastic. It consists of 36 segments shaped like triangular prisms, joined into one long chain. Unlike a 3x3 cube, there is no "solved" state you have to return to. You twist the segments against each other and build shapes from them: animals, geometric solids or your own designs.

How the magic snake works

Each joint between the segments rotates in steps and has 4 positions. Combining these rotations gives you a huge number of possible shapes. With 36 pieces, the chain is longer than the popular 24-piece version, so you can build larger and more elaborate figures. At the same time, it is easier to master than the long 48- or 72-piece versions, where it is harder to keep the whole thing under control.

The snake has no magnets and no tension adjustment. It is a simple mechanical puzzle where spatial imagination and patience matter, not speed. It works well as a break between speedcubing sessions or as something to keep your hands busy at your desk.

Transparent version

This version differs from standard QiYi snakes in its look. The segments are semi-transparent, so a finished figure looks different against the light than one made of classic opaque plastic. The mechanism and the number of pieces stay the same. You can choose from three colours: blue (Blue), green (Green) and red (Red).

Who is it for?

For kids and adults who enjoy hands-on puzzles and building shapes without instructions. It also makes a nice small gift for someone who doesn't solve cubes, as no algorithms are needed. An experienced cuber will see it more as an interesting addition to their collection than a timed challenge.
