QiYi 36 Blocks Magic Snake

QiYi 36 Blocks Magic Snake is a snake puzzle made of 36 wedges, segments shaped like triangular prisms. It works just like the classic Rubik's Snake. Unlike a 3x3 cube, there is no single solved state to reach. By twisting the segments, you create shapes: a ball, animals, letters, geometric figures or your own designs. You can't fail to solve the snake or break it by twisting in the wrong order, so it works well both as a spatial puzzle and as a fidget toy.

How a magic snake works

Neighbouring wedges are joined at their side faces and rotate against each other in 90-degree steps. Each twist changes the direction of the rest of the snake. A few moves are enough for a simple shape, while more complex figures require thinking a few steps ahead. The mechanism is simple, with no magnets and no tension adjustment. The turns click into place, so each segment stays exactly where you leave it.

Why 36 segments?

QiYi makes snakes in several lengths, from the classic 24 segments up to 48 and more. The 36-segment version sits in the middle of that range. It is noticeably longer than a standard snake, so you can build bigger and more detailed figures. At the same time, it still sits comfortably in your hand and doesn't become unwieldy. If you've never held a snake puzzle before, you'll learn the basics on this one just as easily as on a 24-segment model. Longer models make more sense if you want to build really elaborate structures.

Who is it for?

For kids and adults who enjoy twisty puzzles but don't necessarily want to learn algorithms. Cubers will also find it handy as a break from cubes or something to fiddle with between solves.
