DaYan Bermuda Venus is a 3x3 cube from the Bermuda series in which two opposite faces have triangular divisions. As a result, some moves are blocked and familiar algorithms need to be applied with a plan. Among the "planets" in this series, it's considered the second easiest, after Mercury.
DaYan Bermuda Venus is a puzzle from the Bermuda series. The series consists of eight cubes named after the planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) and four special editions: Star, Column, House I and House II. When solved, the cube looks like a regular 3x3 cube. The difference is that some of the faces are divided into triangles. Because of these divisions, some pieces are joined together (bandaging), and some moves can only be made when the layers are aligned in the right way.
In the Venus version, two opposite faces have triangular divisions, and the triangles on each of them are oriented differently. The other four faces look just like on a classic cube. These triangular centers often block the neighboring layers. That means knowing 3x3 algorithms is not enough. Before each sequence, you need to position the cube so that the sequence can actually be performed. Many of the usual approaches no longer work, leaving you with a limited set of moves in which even well-known algorithms, such as Sune, have to be used wisely.
The black version of Venus turns like a classic 3x3 cube, not like a Fisher Cube. This matters because in the Bermuda series, some color versions of the same model have a different turning layout.
Cubers who have solved the whole series usually rank Venus as the second easiest. Only Mercury, which has one triangular face, is simpler. That makes Venus a good choice for your first or second encounter with Bermuda cubes, before moving on to harder models such as Mars, Uranus, Jupiter or Saturn.
To tackle this puzzle, you need to be able to solve a regular 3x3 cube, ideally at least with the layer-by-layer method. A complete beginner will probably get discouraged. For a cuber who already knows the basics and wants something different from yet another speedcube, it's an interesting challenge where planning matters, not speed. This is not a speedcubing cube but a collector's puzzle.
