MoreTry Tianma X3+ Double Magnetic 3x3

Tianma is the first series from MoreTry, a brand founded by a former YJ designer. The X3+ is an improved version of the original X3. The manufacturer refined the piece molds and placed the magnets in capsules that are easier to install. MoreTry Tianma X3+ Double Magnetic is a 3x3 cube with two sets of magnets, in a stickerless bright color scheme.

What the Double Magnetic version gives you

In a standard magnetic cube, the magnets work only between the corners and the edges. The Double version adds a second set of magnets between the corner bases and the edges. This makes the layers snap into place more clearly, and the cube is more stable than the Single variant. The Tianma series also includes the Triple version, with a third set of magnets and stronger layer alignment, and the Super version, which uses MagLev instead of springs. The Double sits in the middle: you can clearly feel the magnets, but they don't pull as strongly as in the Triple.

How it turns

The Tianma is known as a fast cube with light turning and good corner cutting. Users especially praise its forward cutting. With such light turning, overshooting is easy. If you prefer more controllable cubes, you may need a moment to get used to it or tighten the settings. The pieces have a "fishscale" shape designed to smooth out turning. Thanks to the more precise molds, the X3+ is, according to the manufacturer, quieter and more predictable than the first X3.

Adjustment

• Dual-adjustment core: compression and spring tension are adjusted separately, so you can easily set the cube up for more speed or more control.
• 9 levels of adjustment in a classic spring system (no MagLev).
• Capsule magnets, which make it easier to take the cube apart and put it back together, for example when lubing.

For someone who already has their first cube behind them and wants a fast magnetic 3x3 with independent adjustment, without buying more expensive flagships. If you're not sure whether you like strong magnets, the Double gives you a clear magnetic feel without overdoing it. A child who is a complete beginner will find it easier to learn solving on a calmer, less sensitive cube.
