MoreTry Tianma X3+ Dual Magnetic Frosted 3x3

The Tianma X3 was MoreTry's first cube, and the X3+ series is its improved version. The MoreTry Tianma X3+ Dual Magnetic Frosted is a 3x3 magnetic cube with a dual magnet setup, classic springs and a matte frosted surface. It comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme. In the X3+ line it is the middle version: it has more magnets than the Single, but a simpler design than the Triple or Super MagLev.

How it turns

Users describe Tianma X3 cubes as fast and light to turn, with good corner cutting, including reverse corner cutting. The second set of magnets makes the layers snap into place more firmly than in the Single version. The cube is still fast, but easier to control at higher TPS. Some people point out that cubes from this series are fairly loud and come quite loose out of the box. Usually tightening the tension by a few levels is enough, and lubing quiets down the mechanism. On a loose setting and with hard flicks, overshooting can occur.

Adjustment and design

• Dual-adjustment core. Spring tensioning and compression are set independently, so you can tune the cube more towards speed or towards control.
• 9 setting levels, changed with the tool included in the set.
• Springs instead of MagLev. The turning has a more classic feel than the Super MagLev version.
• "Fishscale" pieces, i.e. a grooved inner surface that reduces friction when turning.
• Frosted finish. The matte plastic gives a good grip and doesn't pick up fingerprints as easily.

Single, Dual, Triple or MagLev?

The X3+ versions differ mainly in the number of magnet sets and the tension system. The Single is the simplest and has the gentlest magnets. The Dual gives more noticeable layer alignment with the same spring-based design. The Triple adds another set of magnets, so it has stronger feedback and behaves more stably while turning. The Super MagLev uses magnets instead of springs, which makes turning quieter and smoother. Choose the Dual if the Single feels too loose and you don't need stronger magnets.

Who is it for?

For someone moving up from their first basic cube who wants a fast 3x3 with full adjustment without paying extra for a flagship. It also works well as a budget main or a backup cube for a speedcuber who likes medium magnets and good cutting. Beginners will manage with it too, but it's better to tighten the tension a little at first so the cube misaligns less.
