This is the top-of-the-range frosted version in the new Tianma X3+ series. MoreTry Tianma X3+ Super Maglev Frosted is a 3x3 magnetic cube. Instead of springs, it uses MagLev for tensioning. It has a triple positioning magnet system and a matte finish without a UV coating. It comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

MagLev instead of springs

In a classic cube, the layers are held together by springs in the core. In the Super Maglev version, this job is done by magnets placed opposite each other that repel each other. This usually makes turning lighter and quieter, without the typical spring noise. The positioning magnets use the same triple system as the Triple-Magnetic version, so the layers clearly snap into place after every turn.

How it turns

The cube is set up more for speed than for control. Users report very smooth turning and clearly noticeable magnets. Some also say the corner cutting is not quite as impressive as the turning itself. This version of the X3+ series was released at the end of 2025, so there are still few reviews. For now, the description of the feel is based on individual opinions rather than extensive testing.

The matte frosted surface does not shine and picks up fewer fingerprints. It gives a different grip than the shiny glossy or UV versions.

Which Tianma X3+ version should you choose?

• Single-Magnetic and Double-Magnetic: springs and a simpler magnet system. A good choice for your first magnetic cube.
• Triple-Magnetic: springs and a triple magnet system. The layers snap into place more firmly, and the springs give a more classic feel.
• Super Maglev: the same triple magnet system, but with MagLev. This is the version for anyone who wants lighter and quieter turning.

Don't confuse it with the older Tianma X3+ V3 and V4 models or with the original Tianma X3. These are different designs, and their specifications do not apply to this cube.

Who is it for?

For cubers who already know magnetic cubes and want to try MagLev. If you are used to springs and strong, aggressive turning, you may need a moment to get used to the lighter feel of the layers. For a child's first cube, the simpler Single- or Double-Magnetic version is usually enough.
