MoYu AoFu V5 7x7 Triple-Track Magnetic

AoFu is MoYu's flagship 7x7 series, and V5 is its latest generation. The model comes in three magnetic versions. The MoYu AoFu V5 7x7 Triple-Track Magnetic has the most magnets of them all: 232 magnets, factory-installed in three "tracks". It is the most strongly magnetized version of this 7x7 cube, built for stability and reliable layer alignment.

Single, Dual or Triple-Track?

All three versions share the same 62 mm size. The difference is the magnet layout:

• Single-Track (144 magnets): standard magnets between the outer pieces.
• Dual-Track (160 magnets): adds a Ball-Core with 16 magnets, i.e. magnets between the corners and the core.
• Triple-Track (232 magnets): everything from the Dual version plus 72 extra magnets in the inner "feet" of the pieces, designed to reduce popping and layer misalignment.

In practice, the Triple-Track has the strongest and most distinct "click" in the whole series. Some cubers find the magnets very strong and snappy. If you prefer lighter, more relaxed turning, the Dual-Track version may suit you better.

How it turns

Straight out of the box, the cube can feel dry and a bit stiff. Users report that it breaks in noticeably after a dozen or so solves and your own setup (lubing). The widened outer layers and the Ball-Core help especially during the 3x3 stage, as the big cube is less likely to lose alignment and is easier to control during fast turning. The manufacturer also highlights its anti-misalignment design, which limits layer shifting. With a size of 62 mm and a weight of approx. 150 g, the AoFu V5 is relatively compact for a 7x7 and won't tire your hands during longer sessions.

Who is it for?

For cubers who practice 7x7 regularly and want a stable cube with strong magnets that resists popping and stays predictable during fast solving. If 7x7 is your first big cube or you prefer lighter magnets, the Single- or Dual-Track version may be a more sensible choice. The mechanism is the same, but the magnets are weaker.
