MoYu AoShi V4 6x6 Triple-Track Magnetic

The fourth generation of the AoShi series, MoYu's 6x6. MoYu AoShi V4 6x6 Triple-Track Magnetic is the most strongly magnetized version in the standard V4 line. It has 232 magnets in three groups: on the outer layers, on the inner layers and on the core axis. The pieces are hollow, so the cube weighs approx. 140 g despite the large number of magnets. This version has a matte (frosted) surface without UV coating and comes in a stickerless bright colour scheme.

How does it turn?

Users most often describe the AoShi V4 as a fast yet stable cube that is easy to control. They also point out a clear improvement over its predecessor, the AoShi WR M. The smaller size helps during long 6x6 solves, as your hands get less tired. The magnets in the inner layers help keep the middle layers aligned, and these are the layers most often responsible for lockups in big cubes. Out of the box, the cube usually needs breaking in, lubing and tension adjustment. One user reported internal edge pops at very loose tension, so it's better not to start with extremely loose settings.

Single, Double or Triple-Track?

• Single-Track: 144 magnets on the outer tracks, no magnets on the core axis. This is the lightest version (approx. 133 g) with the weakest magnetic feel.
• Double-Track: 160 magnets (144 outer and 16 on the core axis), approx. 135 g. It has a lighter feel than the Triple-Track because the inner layers have no magnets.
• Triple-Track: 232 magnets (144 outer, 72 inner and 16 on the core axis). It has the most pronounced "click" and keeps all layers aligned most firmly.

More magnets don't automatically make a cube better. The Triple-Track offers the most stability, but if you prefer lighter, looser turning, you may feel more comfortable with the Double-Track. The UV version has the same mechanism, just with a glossy coating that gives a stronger grip.

Who is it for?

The Triple-Track is a good choice if you regularly solve 6x6 against the clock and want the cube to keep the layers aligned as reliably as possible. It also works well as a first serious 6x6 for someone who can already solve 4x4 and 5x5 confidently. For a child just getting to know big cubes, the cheaper Single-Track version is usually enough.
