PiLube Blue 3k

PiLube Blue 3k - silicone cube lube

PiLube Blue 3k is a silicone cube lube from PiCube in a 10 ml bottle. The PiLube Blue series is designed to stabilize cubes. The lube adds a little resistance to the mechanism, so the cube turns more calmly and is easier to control. The 3k version has the lowest viscosity in the series, so it changes the feel of your cube the most gently.

How it affects your cube

The manufacturer rates the smoothness of the 3k version at 3 out of 5. That's more than 5k (2/5) and 10k (1/5). In practice, Blue 3k smooths out turning and calms it down a bit, but it won't make your cube heavy and sluggish. It works well in cubes that are a little too fast or too "jumpy". After lubing, they should feel more predictable while keeping plenty of speed.

If your cube is still too fast or not stable enough after lubing, go for a thicker variant. On the other hand, if your cube is already slow and you want to speed it up, this lube isn't the right choice. The Blue series is mainly about control, not about adding speed.

PiLube Blue versions

• 3k: the thinnest consistency in the series and the smallest slowing effect.
• 5k: adds noticeably more weight to the cube.
• 10k: the strongest stabilizing and slowing effect among the standard versions.

PiCube also makes thicker Blue variants with a needle tip for precise application.

Durability and use

The lube is silicone-based. The manufacturer rates its durability at 5/5, so the effect lasts a long time after a single application. A few drops are enough. It's better to start with a small amount and add more if needed than to over-lube your cube right away.

Who is it for?

For cubers who want to calm their cube down a little without noticeably slowing it. Blue 3k is also a good starting point if you don't know yet which thickness of stabilizing lube suits you.
