Thick PiLube Cheese lube in the Highly Viscous version, which increases turning viscosity and makes your cube slower and more controllable. According to the manufacturer, its effect lasts even after a long break-in. Volume: 10 ml.
PiLube Cheese Highly Viscous is a thick cube lube from PiCube, the maker of the whole PiLube series. Its consistency is close to a grease rather than a thin oil. It is designed to add resistance and "stickiness" to your turns. It comes in handy when your cube feels too fast, turns too lightly or gives you too little control. The lube comes in two versions. Highly Viscous is the thicker of the two, so it changes the feel of the cube more noticeably.
The manufacturer describes Cheese as a lube that increases the viscosity of turning in a stable, long-lasting way. Once applied, the cube usually turns more slowly and is more controllable, and the layers are less prone to overshooting. The key difference compared with PiLube Blue, which also slows a cube down: according to the manufacturer, the effect of Cheese barely fades during a long break-in. Your cube won't become noticeably faster after a few weeks of solving, which is normal with many thick lubes.
Both versions of Cheese work the same way; they differ only in thickness. Highly Viscous slows the cube down more and is meant for those who want a noticeable change. That could be a cube that has become too loose after break-in, or simply someone who prefers slower, calmer turning. If your cube only needs a slight adjustment, it's wiser to start with the less viscous version.
This is a thick lube, so you really need very little. Too much can make the cube too heavy and "gummy". It's best to add a little at a time and check the effect after a few solves. Thicker lubes are usually applied to the core, springs and screws, or thinly to the parts you want to slow down. Don't use it to make your cube faster - thinner lubes are meant for that.
For cubers who already know how lubes work and want to slow their cube down permanently or gain more control over it. It's also useful if the slowing effect of other lubes wears off too quickly for you. For the first lubing of a new cube, something more versatile is usually a better choice.
