PiLube Cheese Slightly Viscous is a thick lube from PiCube that slows your cube down and gives you more control when turning. Unlike PiLube Blue, it doesn't lose its viscosity after a long break-in. The Slightly Viscous version is the milder of the two available, 10 ml bottle.
PiLube Cheese Slightly Viscous is a thick cube lube from the PiLube series by PiCube, with a consistency similar to grease. It doesn't speed your cube up. Instead, it slows it down and adds resistance, so turns feel more "sticky" and are easier to control. The lube comes in two viscosity versions. This one, labeled Slightly Viscous, is the milder option, while Highly Viscous is the thicker version. The bottle holds 10 ml.
Cheese comes in handy when your cube is too fast for you. If the turning is too light, you get overshooting and the layers turn further than you want. This lube adds resistance, so the cube becomes more controllable and predictable. According to the manufacturer, the effect is stable and long-lasting.
PiLube Blue also adds resistance, but Cheese differs in how it behaves once the cube is broken in. After a long break-in, its viscosity stays practically the same, and the cube doesn't get noticeably faster over time. This means you don't need to re-lube as often to keep the same feel.
Both versions work the same way and differ only in the strength of the effect. Slightly Viscous is a sensible choice to start with. It slows the cube down noticeably without making it heavy. It's also easier to get the amount right when you just want to calm down a cube that's a bit too fast. Highly Viscous makes sense when you need a strong slowdown or the milder version turned out to be too weak.
The lube is thick, so it's best to start with a small amount and add more if needed. Too much lube can make the cube sluggish, and removing the excess takes longer than adding a little more.
For cubers who prefer a slower cube with more control. Also for anyone who wants to "tame" a fast cube a little, e.g. when learning new algorithms or when their turning is less precise. If you want your cube to turn faster and lighter, choose a light silicone lube instead, because Cheese works the opposite way.
