PiLube Green

PiLube Green 10 ml

Green PiLube plays a different role in the PiCube range than the other colors. PiLube Green lube is a low-viscosity silicone lubricant that works mainly as an additive to the lube you already use in your cube, not as a standalone lube. The manufacturer recommends applying it in very small amounts. It then forms a thin protective layer on the plastic that supports your main lube and is meant to extend the time before your cube needs relubing.

How it works in a cube

Green is thin and light and gives a clearly fast feeling. The British PiCube distributor rates it on its scale as one of the brand's fastest lubes, and also as light with medium durability when used without another lube. That's why it works best combined with another lube: the main lube sets the character of the cube (speed, control, feeling), while Green adds a bit of speed and helps that setup last.

If your cube is already very fast and hard to control, Green probably won't fix that. In that case, a thicker lube, e.g. a higher-viscosity PiLube Blue, will work better.

PiLube Green vs other PiLube lubes

• Green: low viscosity, fast feeling, used mainly as an additive to another lube.
• Red and Yellow: standalone silicone lubes. Red focuses more on a smooth feeling, Yellow on stability.
• Blue 3K / 5K / 10K: a series with increasing viscosity, for slowing a cube down and adding control.

Who is it for?

For cubers who do their own setup and want to fine-tune a cube after lubing or extend the effect of their favorite lube. For your first cube and first lubing, it's easier to start with one all-round silicone lube and get Green later, once you know what feeling you like.
