C4U 7x7 Clock

C4U 7x7 Clock (Cube4You) is the largest model in this manufacturer's NxN Clock series. Instead of the 3x3 grid you know from the WCA Clock, the dials here form a 7x7 grid, which gives you 49 clocks. On top of that, there are 36 pins and 4 gears for turning the dials. The puzzle is 3D-printed, so its build and look differ from the injection-moulded Clocks of the big brands. In our shop it is available in purple (Purple).

How it differs from a regular Clock

The principle stays the same: you set the pins up or down, turn the gears and bring all the dials to 12 o'clock. The difference is the scale. With 36 pins, a single move turns many more linked dials, so methods from the WCA Clock have to be extended or worked out from scratch. Solving it takes planning and good pattern recognition. What really matters here is solving the puzzle, not TPS.

In C4U's 3D-printed multi-dial Clocks, turning resistance increases when several pins are up at the same time. So take it more gently than a competition Clock and don't force the gears.

Standard and Plus versions

C4U also offers the 7x7 Plus Clock with a different dial layout (41 dials). This product is the standard version, without the Plus designation.

Who is it for?

For those who already know the classic Clock and want to test themselves on a much more complex version, and for collectors of unusual puzzles. It is not a model for competition practice, as the 7x7 Clock is not a WCA event. If you are just starting with Clock, the regular 3x3 version, e.g. a magnetic Clock for speedcubing, is a better choice.
