C4U Hexagram-13 Clock

C4U Hexagram-13 Clock is a Clock-type puzzle for anyone who has outgrown the regular 9-dial clock. Instead of a 3x3 grid, it has 13 dials arranged in a hexagram, a six-pointed star. The outer dials are offset from one another. The shop offers the Purple colour version.

How is it different from the classic Clock?

On a classic Clock, the wheels and pins determine which dials turn together. On the Hexagram-13, pins are placed around every dial and change how the gears connect to the dials. Because of the different dial layout and connections, methods from the regular Clock don't carry over one-to-one. You'll have to work out much of the solution from scratch, although the basic principle stays familiar: set the pins and turn the dials until they all point to the same hour.

The Hexagram-13 is a puzzle to figure out and collect, not a speedsolving tool. WCA competitions only hold the standard Clock event, so if you're training for official competitions, you'll need a regular 3x3 clock.

Who is it for?

Mainly for those who already know the classic Clock and want to see how the same idea works in a more complex form. It's also a great pick for collectors of unusual puzzles. If you've never held a clock puzzle before, it's easier to start with the 3x3 version and move on to the hexagram later. That way, you'll better appreciate what actually changes in the mechanism.
