MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE MagLev 10 Core Magnet

MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE is the Special Edition of the well-known WeiLong Pyraminx, created by MoYu together with PiCube. The mechanism comes from the original, but the SE has an orange interior and more configurations than the base version. This variant combines two things: MagLev instead of springs and 10 magnets in the core. It is one of the most fully featured versions in the series.

How it differs from the regular WeiLong Pyraminx

The base WeiLong Pyraminx is light and fast. Some users find it hard to control straight out of the box, especially the MagLev version. The core magnets are meant to add stability. A similar 10-magnet layout, known from WeiLong mods, pulls a layer into alignment and pushes it away at the halfway point of a turn. Layers are more eager to snap into place, and the pyraminx is less likely to "drift" during fast turning. Cubers who fitted a core like this into a regular WeiLong usually described the puzzle as still fast, but noticeably more controllable.

MagLev and magnet adjustment

• MagLev. Instead of springs, the layers are held in place by repelling magnets. This makes turning smooth, with no spring noise at all.
• 10-Core Magnet. Extra magnets in the core align the layers and improve stability.
• 5 magnet strength levels. You can adjust the magnet strength to suit your style: weaker settings give lighter turning, stronger ones give more "click" and control.

WeiLong Pyraminx SE variants

The SE series comes in several configurations: a spring or MagLev version, with no core magnets, with 6 or with 10 core magnets, plus a matte or UV finish. The 10-magnet version has the most "solid", controlled feel. If you prefer a very loose, fast pyraminx, you may feel more at home with the 6-core variant or the one without core magnets.

Who is it for?

For anyone who trains Pyraminx seriously and wants a fast yet stable model without having to mod it themselves. It is also a good choice if you had a regular WeiLong and found it too twitchy. For a first pyraminx, including for a child, a cheaper magnetic version is more than enough.
