MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE MagLev 10 Core Magnet UV

MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE is a special edition of the popular WeiLong Pyraminx, made by MoYu together with PiCube. This variant has every upgrade available in the SE series: MagLev instead of springs, 10 magnets in the core and a UV coating. This magnetic pyraminx has orange internal plastic, so you can easily tell it apart from a regular WeiLong. It comes in the stickerless bright colour scheme.

What each feature does

• MagLev: two repelling magnets work in place of springs. Turning is smoother and there is no spring noise.
• 10 Core Magnets: the magnets in the core pull the layers into alignment. This helps the pyraminx finish moves more easily and keeps it calmer during fast turning.
• 5 levels of magnet strength adjustment: you can set the magnetic pull more towards speed or more towards control.
• UV Coated: a glossy coating that grips your fingers better than matte plastic.

How it solves

The regular WeiLong Pyraminx MagLev is considered very fast. According to many users, straight out of the box it can feel a little lacking in control, especially with strong magnets. The core magnets in the SE version are meant to tame that character and give the puzzle more stability at high TPS. The SE version has only been on the market for a short time, so there are few opinions yet. Early reviews rate it clearly higher than the standard WeiLong and the WeiLong MagLev. Some users note, however, that a well set-up, cheaper pyraminx can deliver similar times.

Which WeiLong Pyraminx SE version?

The SE series lets you choose three things: springs or MagLev, a core with no magnets, 6 magnets or 10 magnets, and a matte or UV finish. This variant has the most complete configuration. If you prefer classic springs or matte plastic, another SE version will suit you better. The differences concern exactly these features, not the design of the pyraminx pieces themselves.

Who is it for?

This variant is for anyone who practises pyraminx for time and wants a puzzle with core magnets, MagLev and a UV coating straight out of the box, without modding it yourself. For a first pyraminx or casual solving, the basic WeiLong Pyraminx Magnetic is more than enough.
