MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE Magnetic 10 Core Magnet

A refreshed WeiLong Pyraminx that MoYu developed together with the PiCube brand. In the SE series you can choose the finish, the tension system and the number of magnets in the core. MoYu WeiLong Pyraminx SE Magnetic 10 Core Magnet is the version with classic springs (no MagLev) and ten magnets in the core. It has the most core magnets in the whole series. SE versions are easy to recognize by their orange internal plastic.

What core magnets do

The regular WeiLong Pyraminx Magnetic has magnets in the edges, centers and tips. It's known for its light and very fast turning. However, some Pyraminx solvers find it too fast on the weaker magnet settings. In that case, the only options are tighter tension or a thicker lube. Ten magnets in the core additionally pull the pieces into the solved position. The puzzle finishes moves more reliably and stops halfway through a turn less often. According to user feedback, this setup gives you more control without tightening the tension. Moves are also more predictable during fast solves.

Adjustment

Magnet strength can be set to 5 levels, so you can tune the puzzle for a stronger, distinct "click" or for lighter, faster turning. Springs instead of MagLev give a more classic, springy feel.

Which SE version should you choose?

• Standard, 6-Core or 10-Core: the more magnets in the core, the more stable and "controlled" the puzzle feels. The version without core magnets is the closest to the regular WeiLong.
• Springs or MagLev: MagLev replaces the springs with repelling magnets, so moves feel lighter. The spring version has a more traditional character.
• Matte or UV: they differ only in surface and grip. The mechanism is the same.

Who is it for?

For people who train Pyraminx seriously: they like the WeiLong's speed but want more stability and control. A child's first pyramid puzzle doesn't need to be this advanced. For learning, a cheaper magnetic model without core magnets is enough.
